On the ever-vibrant stage of mixed martial arts (MMA), Team Lakay’s Jhanlo Sangiao is up for one of his career’s sternest tests as he grapples with Mongolian champion Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu on August 14 at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

From the celebrated Team Lakay gym that has produced four world champions, Sangiao has been on a meteoric rise with an impressive six consecutive wins under his belt. The young bantamweight fighter has quickly made a name for himself as one of the most promising prospects in the division, captivating audiences worldwide with his well-rounded skill set, tenacity, and killer instinct.

Guided by his father and renowned coach, Mark Sangiao, Jhanlo possesses a formidable blend of striking and grappling techniques. His ability to seamlessly transition between different ranges, and his unshakeable mental fortitude make him a formidable opponent for anyone in the division.

“Kailangan lang maging consistent din siya sa training at symepre yung game plan kailangan ma – execute,” the father-mentor noted, acknowledging the tough challenge Jhanlo faces.

Posing a significant threat to Sangiao’s undefeated streak is Baatarkhuu, who carries a record of nine wins and two losses. Renowned for his explosive striking and aggressive fighting style, Baatarkhuu has been on a winning spree, obliterating opponents in his past outings including Sangiao’s teammate, Adonis Sevilleno.

In the coming months, Team Lakay is set to showcase its new stars as Southeast Asian Games medalists Jean Claude Saclag and Carlo Von Buminaang are being prepared for upcoming international events.

“They are now the new face of Team Lakay and we are optimistic that they will also soon be competing on the international stage and be world champions too,” Sangiao shared.

In the meantime, fans can also expect the return of Carlos Alvares to the ONE circle. Alvares has rapidly emerged as one of the most talked-about prospects in the MMA scene. Known for their tradition of producing top-tier fighters, Team Lakay has once again discovered a promising fighter in Alvares, whose skills and potential have attracted the attention of fight enthusiasts worldwide.
